A farmhouse that learned to host.

Peter Halloran bought the house in 2017 from the estate of the family that built it in 1904. The same summer tenants had returned for forty years, which is why the kitchen still has the good light and the floors still have the patina.

The boathouse and the barn came later, restored slowly and kept simple. The rule is the one the old tenants left behind: arrive to a ready house, use the river kindly, and leave the ladder down for the loons.
